Secret Prayer

Secret prayer is praying in a manner that only God hears; even the devil does not know what you are praying about if you do not speak it out loud. Only God knows the secrets of the heart; no one knows what you are truly thinking at all times if you do not speak it. Secret prayer entails going into your quiet place and spending time with the Father with the matters of your heart, never praying openly to impress man with your ability to pray. After all, God knows your intent, your reason for praying openly. Secret prayer is that prayer you pray when you are alone but not alone, you pray silently. Secret prayer is stealing away to your garden of Gethsemane to pray to the Father regarding your lot in life; asking for strength and courage. Secret prayer is standing in the gap for someone who does not or cannot pray. We all have those times when we pray in secret! It is a good thing to go to your closet whenever you pray…I pray more in the closet than out because God knows. God is waiting to hear from you. Jesus is the open door...enter!

Matthew 6:5-6 (NLT)

“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
