Keeping It Real By Grace

We often aspire to be like someone we admire when in truth; we are who we are no matter how we try to imitate others. The one thing I’ve come to know for certain is, I can only be myself. Even identical twins have different identities; they look alike but they are different. There are times when one may choose to imitate someone else, create a scenario about life or lifestyle without realizing to do such is a hypocrisy. Once such a web is woven it becomes a tricky thing to overcome the lies you tell yourself, and others. You deceive yourself first, then others, then you become caught up in a world filled with illusions. It is not wise to try to impress others with your ungodliness. Not only does hypocrisy deceive the person who created the scenario but it is harmful to others and it brings dishonor to God because of one's disobedience. Therefore, one must cultivate honesty, humility toward one’s self and others and strive to maintain a reality-based relationship with God and others. Whatever you choose to do in life, make sure your motives are pure and you be yourself. Remember, the truth is the light and the light must, and will shine!

Titus 1:16 (NKJV)

They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.
