Suffering In Silence
Trials, troubles, and tragedies come to all mankind at some point in time. No one is exempt from suffering, sorrow, sickness, and sadness. There are times and seasons for everything under the sun; a time to plant and a time to harvest, a time for gathering and letting go and a time to be born and a time to die. Everything happens in seasons; even suffering. Death does not discriminate; the young, the old, the good, and the bad all come to the same end. Life is full of what I call mysteries because I do not clearly understand why bad things happen to good people or why people murder and rob one another…all of which creates suffering. Oh! Yes, then there is what man calls untimely death, but in truth, all our days are numbered and we do not know how we will leave. Whenever we have monumental tragedies, we often suffer in silence because people become intolerant because we do not grieve by their standards.
John 16:32-33 (ERV)
Listen to me. A time is coming when you will be scattered, each to his own home. In fact, that time is already here. You will leave me, and I will be alone. But I am never really alone because the Father is with me. “I have told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world, you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”
