Words Can Bless, Unify, Destroy, Restore and Encourage
We must come to know and remember, the tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value. Denigration should not be used to acquire positions of power while never really addressing the real issues; yet, we buy into it. When will we as a people stop being programmed by the media that reports mostly negative news as if nothing good ever happens? Let us think on the beautiful, be just, reach out to help someone along the way. When will we stop feeding on negative news that is looped 24 hours a day? People are programmed through repetition, it does not matter if it is the truth or a lie, if you listen long enough it becomes your reality. People in power or seeking power will use derogatory information, especially of a biased or misleading nature to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. All too often it is used to stir up hatred, disunity, distrust, and oppression. Please, remember, blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. Words can be a tree of life that flourish and bring forth good fruit, words can bless, unify, destroy, restore, and encourage. Choose to use your words wisely. Know that right is right and wrong is wrong; make no excuses, even a child is known by its behaviors!
Ephesians 5:11-14 (ESV)
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
