Living As We Are Created To Live

God has told us throughout the scriptures how we are to live. We are to love kindness by being kind, love justice by being just, love our neighbors as ourselves, and walk humbly and peaceably with others and with God. If we humble ourselves before the Lord, we will be exalted. It is far better that we humble ourselves than to be brought to a place of humility by God. It is better to repent, be humble, and surrender than to have God do it the hard way. The word of God tells us that obedience is better than sacrifice.

Matthew 23:10-12 (NLT)

10 And don’t let anyone call you ‘Teacher,’ for you have only one teacher, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you must be a servant. 12 But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Ephesians 4:1-3 (NLT)

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. 3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.

1 Peter 5:5-6 Translation (NLT)

5 In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”[a] 6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
