Loving As God Loves Us

Our Father, My God, My Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ, I rise to this day with gratitude and praise for the chance to abide in You as I continue walking the Path of Life with my hand in Your hand. Father, I ask You in the name of Jesus Christ, let me always be acutely aware of the depth of Your immeasurable love for humanity because You gave Your only begotten Son as a living sacrifice for the sins of the world. Your word tells us what love is, that is how we know: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. We are to love one another as Jesus loves, try to show others kindness in all we do and say, be gentle and loving in deeds and in thought because these are the things Jesus taught when He walked on earth. Therefore, we ought to be as He was, we should never take what we cannot give. Yet in our world today, instead of helping one another or lying our lives down in love for one another, there are those who normalize lying just to get a position and maintain it at all cost, while others kill, steal, and destroy others without love or mercy. Your word also tells us that Jesus came so that we could have abundant life, while Satan came to deceive, steal, kill, and destroy; it is apparent who some have chosen to serve by their actions. Please help us, Lord, open the eyes and understanding of those who do not see and understand that they cannot truly love anyone and hate anyone at the same time. Father, I realize we can love through kindness, service, forgiveness, truth, and sacrifice. Help us to comprehend the complexity of Your infinite, unconditional love; how deep and wide it is at all times for all people who choose to serve You. Your love justifies our lives and fills us with hope for the future. “You loved the world so much that You gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but will have eternal life.” Even death has no dominion over those who love and are loved by the Lord. Thank You, for the sacrifice and the chance to live forever in You through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the guidance and teachings of the Holy Spirit whom Jesus Christ left to dwell in us and among us to lead us into all truth. Hallelujah! Amen!

1 John 3:16-22 ESV: By this, we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deeds and in truth. By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
