There Are Consequences When People And Nations Forget God

Abba Father, My God, The Source of All Blessings and Favor, I rise to this day with the acute awareness that all that I have, all my help, every blessing and every lesson comes from You, the Lord of my life...the Source of all that is and will ever be. Father, please keep me and all those who love and serve You in the palm of Your hand and let us never fail to transfer our faith to our descendants and all those who are willing to receive all the blessings and favor of abiding in You. Father, I ask You, in the name of Jesus Christ, let us never become spiritually passive and assume our families and the people whose lives we touch will believe and do the right thing. Let us always remember there are dire consequences when people and nations forget You because they have become so arrogant and prosperous. I am aware so many people have grown up, never knowing You or what You have done for us and how You have blessed the nation in which we live. Father, I ask You, please forgive us, and let us not suffer because those in power have forgotten where all of our blessings come from. They are still doing all kinds of evil things, misusing their positions of authority, taking land and wealth that is not rightfully theirs, committing crimes that they would imprison and execute others for, over-taxing and oppressing the people, and being unjust to those they deem less than themselves…deliver us from evil and evil-doers. Father, please help us, the marginalized and disenfranchised ones. Father, have they totally forgotten that You will punish those who are arrogant and disobedient? It seems like an unending story where nations and people forget the source of their blessings, and how You caused them to prosper and obtain sustained wealth. Father, please hide us in the shadow of Your arms and let Your goodness and Your mercy overtake us and sustain us all the days of our lives. So many of those in power know right from wrong, yet they choose to do evil and join forces with Satan and his cohorts, making promises of greatness to those they deem supreme. Father, I ask You, in the name of Jesus Christ, please open our eyes and understanding, so we love as You love and forgive so that we are forgiven, and let us never forget the Source of our blessings and hope. Thank You, Lord, for drawing us to You and keeping us in Your care. Hallelujah! Amen! Jesus, I will never forget, Thank You for the sacrifice! Amen!

Isaiah 5:19-21 NLT: They even mock God and say, “Hurry up and do something! We want to see what you can do. Let the Holy One of Israel carry out his plan, for we want to know what it is.” What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light, and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever. Romans 1:29-31 NLT: Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy.

The glory of the day is not that it marks a change, but that we are being changed. God has given us the chance to begin again and to do the right thing! Forgetting God leads to ungratefulness towards God's works. Ungratefulness is associated with pride. Abundant blessings!
